Salpêtrière School of Hypnosis

Okay kiddo, let me explain the Salpêtrière School of Hypnosis!

First, let's talk about hypnosis. You know how sometimes you get lost in a really good story or movie, and you forget where you are for a little bit? That's kind of like what hypnosis is. It's when someone helps you relax and focus your attention so much that you kind of forget about everything else around you.

Now, the Salpêtrière School of Hypnosis was a group of doctors and scientists who studied hypnosis over 100 years ago in Paris, France. They did a lot of experiments with hypnosis to try and figure out how it worked and how it could help people.

One famous doctor in this school was named Jean-Martin Charcot. He studied a lot of people who were sick or had mental health problems, and he tried using hypnosis to help them feel better. He even did live demonstrations of hypnosis in front of big audiences!

Another important person in this school was named Pierre Janet. He thought that hypnosis could help people remember things from their past that they have forgotten. He wrote a lot of books about his ideas and shared them with other scientists all over the world.

So, the Salpêtrière School of Hypnosis was a group of doctors and scientists who studied hypnosis a long time ago in France. They did a lot of experiments and research to try and understand how hypnosis worked and how it could help people. Some of the doctors who were part of this school became very famous and their ideas about hypnosis changed how we think about it today.
