Saltillo tile

Saltillo tile is a kind of special tile that comes from a place called Saltillo, in Mexico. It is made out of a kind of clay that is found in the earth there, and people have been making it for hundreds of years.

When they make Saltillo tile, the clay is shaped into small squares, and then put out in the sun to dry for a long time. After that, the tiles are carefully baked in a big oven, which makes them strong and hard.

What's special about Saltillo tile is that it has a really unique, warm color and texture. Sometimes it can be a little rough or uneven, but that's part of its charm. People use Saltillo tile for all sorts of things, like floors, walls, and even outdoor spaces like patios and walkways.

If you ever see a really pretty, warm-looking tile in a house or building, there's a good chance it might be Saltillo tile!
