Samoan Americans

Sāmoan Americans are people from the islands of American Samoa, an archipelago in the Pacific Ocean east of Australia. They are the only U.S. citizens who have their own official language and customs—just like people from any other state or country. A long time ago, American Samoa was a colony of the United States, so these people are now citizens of the United States and of American Samoa. Sāmoan Americans are proud of their culture and many maintain their traditional ways and language. Many Sāmoan Americans live on the mainland U.S., but they still honor and celebrate their ancient culture, including music, dance and food.
