Sanctions involving Russia

Okay kiddo, let's say you have a friend who did something really bad, like steal someone's toy. Your other friends might not want to play with them anymore until they say sorry and give the toy back.

Well, sometimes countries do things that are very bad, like take over another country's land or hurt their people. When that happens, other countries might not want to "play" with them anymore, too.

In this case, the country called Russia did some things that made other countries really upset, like interfere with other countries' elections and take over a part of Ukraine's land. So, other countries made some rules (called "sanctions") to make it harder for Russia to do business with them or buy things from them.

They hope that by doing this, Russia will realize that what they did was really wrong and will stop doing those bad things.
