Sand bath

Okay kiddo, have you ever played at the beach and felt the sand between your toes? Well, animals like hamsters and chinchillas also love to play in sand but they do it a little differently. They take a bath in it, also known as a sand bath.

Now, this may sound a little weird, but it's actually very important for their health. You see, hamsters and chinchillas have a special kind of fur that can get really oily and dirty. By taking a sand bath, they can clean their fur and keep it healthy.

When they take a sand bath, they roll around in a container filled with special sand that's made just for them. This sand is very fine and doesn't have any bacteria or harmful chemicals. It's like a spa treatment for their fur!

After they're done rolling around in the sand, they shake it off and are left with shiny, clean fur. And the best part is, they love doing it! It's like playing in the sand at the beach, but with a purpose. So next time you see your hamster or chinchilla taking a sand bath, you'll know that they're just trying to stay healthy and clean.
