Saturation diving

Saturation diving is when someone goes really deep underwater and stays there for a long time. It's like a sleepover, but instead of staying at a friend's house, you stay in a special underwater house called a diving bell.

People who do saturation diving wear special suits that are like pajamas. These suits help them breathe and stay warm. They also have big helmets with glass on the front so they can see.

The diving bell is like a big tube that is made to withstand high pressure. When the people go inside, they seal the doors shut so that water can't come in.

Once inside, the people start to breathe a special air mixture that has more oxygen in it than normal air. This helps them stay healthy while they're underwater. The diving bell is attached to a big ship on the surface of the water so that the people inside can come up and down safely.

When they are done diving, they have to come back up to the surface very slowly. This is called decompression. If they come up too fast, they can get sick or hurt. So, they have to stay in the diving bell and slowly come back up to the surface over several hours.

Saturation diving is important because it helps people explore and study the ocean. It's also used to work on things underwater like oil rigs or shipwrecks.
