ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Scandium(III) oxide

Scandium(iii) oxide is a kind of material that is made up of tiny particles called atoms. Scandium is a special kind of atom that is used in things like airplanes and rockets because it is light but strong.

When scandium atoms join together with oxygen atoms, they make scandium oxide. This material can be used in all kinds of things, like light bulbs and even batteries. It can also be used to make things like computer screens and fancy glassware.

Even though the name is long and may sound complicated, scandium(iii) oxide is actually kind of like a special puzzle made out of tiny pieces that are put together in a certain way to make something really cool and useful.
