Schmidt-Pechan prism

A schmidt-pechan prism is a special piece of glass that can help you see things clearly.

You know how when you look through a pair of binoculars or a camera lens, the image you see is often upside-down? Well, a schmidt-pechan prism can fix that!

Here's how it works: a schmidt-pechan prism has two angled surfaces inside it. Light enters through the first surface and gets bent (kind of like a bendy straw), then it hits the second angled surface and gets bent again. These bends help to flip the image right-side up before it exits the prism and enters your eye.

Scientists and engineers use schmidt-pechan prisms in all sorts of cool gadgets, like telescopes and cameras, to make sure the images we see are clear and not upside-down.
