School of Nisibis

Okay kiddo, let me tell you about the School of Nisibis.

Long, long time ago in a place called Nisibis (which is now in modern-day Turkey), there was a school. But this wasn't just any school - it was a really special one. It started around 350 AD and lasted for almost 300 years!

Now, at that time, people in Nisibis (and other parts of the world) were trying to understand the meaning of life and the universe. They wanted to learn about God and his creation. And guess what? The School of Nisibis was the place where they could do just that!

The school was a place where people could learn about theology, philosophy, science, and much more. But most importantly, it was a place where people could learn about Christianity. The school was run by Christian priests and bishops who wanted to make sure that people were learning the right things about their faith.

The teachers at the School of Nisibis were very good at what they did. They were so good that people from all over the world came to learn from them. Many of these people went on to become famous theologians, philosophers, and scientists themselves.

The School of Nisibis was very important because it helped to spread Christianity throughout the world. The teachings of the school were so influential that some of the most important Christian leaders of the time, including Saint Ephrem the Syrian and Saint James of Nisibis, studied there.

Unfortunately, the School of Nisibis was eventually closed down. But its legacy lived on through the people it taught and the ideas it spread. And that, my little friend, is the story of the School of Nisibis!
