Scottish National Party

The Scottish National Party (SNP) is a political party in Scotland that wants Scotland to be an independent country. This means that if Scotland were an independent country it would have its own government, laws and Parliament instead of being part of the United Kingdom (UK). The SNP believes that by Scotland being independent it can get more control over its own affairs and make decisions for itself about how Scotland should look, such as its economy and the way it is governed.
