Scuttling

Scuttling is like when you have a toy you don't want anymore and you throw it away. But for big boats and ships, scuttling means intentionally sinking them in water. It's important to note that this should only be done in specific places where it is safe and won't harm the environment.

Why would someone want to scuttle a ship? Well, sometimes when a ship is old or damaged, it's too expensive to repair or sell. Instead of leaving it to rust or taking up space in a harbor, it's better to intentionally sink it. This can also help create a new environment for sea life to grow and live, which is good for the ecosystem.

Scuttling a ship is not easy, though. It takes a lot of planning and preparation to make sure it sinks in the right spot and doesn't harm any other ships or people around. Sometimes explosives are used to make sure the ship sinks properly. Once it's sunk, the ship becomes a new home for sea creatures and a new place to explore for scuba divers.
