ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Seccomp

Okay kiddo, have you ever played a game where you can choose who gets to do what in the game? For example, you get to be the leader and decide who gets to be on your team and what they can do in the game. Well, seccomp is kind of like that!

Seccomp helps keep our computer games safe by only allowing certain things to happen in the game. It's like making a special list of rules, called a "system call whitelist", that only allows certain actions to take place in the game.

For example, say you're playing a game where you can chat with other players. But, we don't want any bad guys to be able to hack into the game and mess with the other players, so we make a rule that only allows chat messages to be sent and received. This way, nobody can do anything bad like delete other people's game progress or steal their personal information.

Overall, seccomp is like a special set of rules that keep our computer games safe by only allowing certain actions to take place. It's like being the boss of the computer game and making sure nobody can do anything they're not supposed to do!
