ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Second anointing

Okay, so the second anointing is a religious ritual that some people believe in. It happens in a special room with important people leading the ceremony.

Basically, it’s kind of like getting an extra special blessing. It’s like when you get a cookie for being really good, but this blessing is for being really good in a super important way.

During the ceremony, you get extra special words said to you and some oil put on your head. It’s supposed to help you have a closer relationship with God and feel even more special in the religion.

Not everyone believes in or practices the second anointing, and that’s okay. It’s just something that some people find important in their religion. Does that make sense?
