ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act

Section 504 is a law that helps people with disabilities have the same opportunities as people without disabilities. It’s like making sure everyone gets a fair chance.

For example, if someone can’t see well, the school needs to make sure they can still learn by giving them bigger books, special software or even a helper in class.

If someone can’t hear well, the school needs to give them a special device or a teacher who knows sign language so they can still understand what’s going on.

Basically, Section 504 makes sure that people with disabilities can have the same education, jobs, and activities as everyone else. It helps make the world a more equal place for all kinds of people.
