ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Secure cookie

So imagine you have a special cookie that you love to eat. But you don't want anyone else to eat it. So what do you do? You keep it in a secure place where only you can get it, like in a locked box or a safe.

A secure cookie works the same way! When you visit a website, it might give you a cookie. This cookie has some important information about your visit, like what you looked at or what you put in your shopping cart. But just like your special cookie, you don't want anyone else to have access to this information.

So the website makes the cookie secure by putting it in a special "locked box" or "safe". This means that only the website can access the information in the cookie, and not anyone else who might be watching or trying to steal it.

This is especially important for websites that deal with sensitive information, like your bank or your email. They want to make sure that your personal information and account details are kept safe and secure, so they use secure cookies to do that!
