ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Seleucid army

The Seleucid army was a group of men who were in charge of protecting the kingdom of Seleucid. It was a group of people who were trained to use weapons, like swords, spears, and bows, to defend their land. These men were called soldiers.

The Seleucid army was led by a man called the king or the general. He was in charge of giving commands to the soldiers and making sure they followed orders. Just like when you play with your friends, and someone is the boss and tells you what you need to do, the king was the boss of the army.

The Seleucid army had different types of soldiers, like the heavy infantry, light infantry, cavalry, and archers. These soldiers were trained to fight in different ways. Some soldiers were good at fighting up close with swords and shields, while others were better at shooting arrows from a distance.

When the Seleucid army went into battle, they would line up in formation. This meant that they would all stand in a straight line, with their shields in front of them, and their weapons ready. They would march towards the other army, with the king leading them.

Once they got closer to the other army, the soldiers would start attacking with their weapons. Some soldiers would run towards the other army to start fighting up close, while others would shoot arrows from a distance.

The Seleucid army was very important because it helped protect their kingdom from other kingdoms that wanted to take over. Just like how you have your mom and dad to protect you from bad guys, the Seleucid army protected their kingdom.
