Self-censorship

Self-censorship is when you stop yourself from saying or writing something because you think it might offend or upset someone else. For example, if you are at a family gathering and you want to say something rude about your cousin, you might choose to self-censor, or not say it at all. Self-censorship can also be done online by not posting something that could be considered inappropriate or offensive.
