Self-perception theory

Self-perception theory is an idea about how people understand their own thoughts and feelings. It says that instead of having an intuition or understanding of our own thoughts and feelings, we actually figure out what we are thinking and feeling by looking at our behavior and the reactions of other people. For example, if you are acting friendly and people seem to like you, then you might start to think that you are a kind person.
