Semantic security is a way of making sure that messages sent between two people (or two computers) can’t be read or changed by anyone else except the two people (or two computers) sending them. It does this by using something called encryption. Encryption is a way of scrambling the message by making it look like a bunch of different characters and numbers. That way, if someone else were to intercept the message, they would not be able to understand it. So, semantic security is like putting a secret code around your message that only the two people (or computers) who are sending it can read and understand.
