Service desk (ITSM)

A service desk is like a big helper that you can go to whenever you need help with something related to your computer or technology. They are a group of people who are really good at fixing things and answering questions, like doctors that help fix people.

When you have a problem with your computer, you can call the service desk and they will ask you questions to understand what the problem is. They will listen carefully, like a teacher listens to your story, and then they will try to fix it like when you need fixing a toy or a puzzle.

The service desk often uses something called ITSM (Information Technology Service Management) which is like a special toolkit that helps them keep track of all the problems that people ask them about. It's like a big book with lots of pages that tell them how to fix different kinds of problems.
