Sexual assault of LGBT persons

Sexual assault means someone has forced someone else to do something they do not want to do with their body. It is very wrong and hurtful. People who are LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender) can be sexually assaulted just like anyone else. However, sometimes the people who sexually assault LGBT people do it because of who they are. This is called a hate crime. It is like bullying someone because of who they are, but much worse because it involves hurting them in a very harmful way. It is important to always treat people with kindness and respect, no matter who they are or who they love.
