Shades of purple

Hi there!

Do you know what purple is? It is a color that you get when you mix the colors red and blue together. But did you know that there are many different shades of purple?

Think of it like when you mix water with paint. If you add more water, the color becomes lighter and if you add more paint, the color becomes darker. The same thing happen with purple. If you add more blue to it, the color becomes a darker shade of purple, and if you add more red to it, the color becomes lighter.

Some shades of purple that you might be familiar with include lavender which is a very light shade of purple, and dark purple which is a very dark shade of purple. But there are so many more! There's lilac, plum, magenta, mauve, and so many others.

The shade of purple you see can also change depending on the lighting! For example, if you look at something purple outside in bright sunlight, it might look brighter and more bold. But if you look at something purple inside in a dimly lit room, it might look darker and more subdued.

So remember, just like there are many different flavors of ice cream or different types of flowers, there are many different shades of purple to explore and enjoy!
