Sham el-Nessim

Sham el-Nessim is a special holiday that people in Egypt celebrate on the first Monday after the Coptic Orthodox Easter . Sham el-Nessim means "the smell of the breeze" and it's a celebration of springtime and the start of a new season. On this day, people in Egypt usually go outside and have picnics with their friends and family. They eat special food like colored eggs, salted fish, and green onions.
