Shark fin trading in Costa Rica

Okay kiddo, you know how sharks are like big fish with sharp teeth and fin on their back? Well, some people really like to eat soup made from the shark's fin and they are willing to pay a lot of money for it. Unfortunately, in Costa Rica, some people catch sharks just for their fins and throw the rest of the shark back into the ocean. This is called "shark finning." Not only is it bad because it hurts the shark, but it also affects other animals in the ocean. Sharks help keep the balance in the ocean by eating smaller fish, so if there are no more sharks, there will be too many small fish and that could be bad for the ocean. So, some people in Costa Rica are trying to stop shark finning and make it illegal. They want to protect the sharks and make sure they are not hunted just for their fins.
