ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sharkwater

Sharkwater is a movie all about sharks. Sharks used to be thought of as scary and dangerous, but the movie teaches us that they are actually very important to the ocean and the whole environment.

Sharks are a type of fish with big teeth and sharp fins. They live in the ocean and are really good at swimming. There are lots of different types of sharks, like whale sharks, hammerhead sharks, and tiger sharks.

The movie teaches us that sharks are very important to keeping the ocean healthy. They eat other animals, like fish and seals, that might be sick or weak. This keeps those animals from getting really sick or spreading diseases. Sharks also help to keep the ocean clean by eating animals that have died and sunk to the bottom of the ocean.

But some people don't like sharks and try to hurt or kill them. They might catch sharks and cut off their fins, which is called shark finning. This is very dangerous for the sharks because they need their fins to swim and live in the ocean.

The movie reminds us that we should be kind to sharks and try to protect them. We can do this by not supporting shark finning and by making sure the ocean stays clean and healthy. In the end, sharks are really cool animals that we should all appreciate and protect!
