Shelling of Stepanakert
Okay, imagine you and your friend are playing outside in your backyard. Suddenly, your friend starts throwing small rocks at you. It hurts and you don't know why they are doing it. This is kind of what is happening in a place called Stepanakert.
Stepanakert is a city where many people live. Some of these people have a disagreement with other people and they have been fighting for a long time. These people live in two different places near Stepanakert and they're fighting over who should have control over the area.
One group of people called the Azerbaijanis and another group called the Armenians have been fighting over this area for many years. Recently, the Azerbaijanis started throwing big bombs that explode when they hit the ground. These bombs are hurting the people living in Stepanakert. This is called shelling. It's like throwing rocks, but much more dangerous.
People living in Stepanakert do not like this fighting, and they want it to stop. But until they can figure out how to get along with each other, the shelling might continue.
