ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Shelter (building)

Shelter is a place where people go to protect themselves from things like rain, wind, and cold weather. A building is a kind of shelter that is made by people.

A building has different parts that work together to keep people safe and comfortable inside. The walls are like a big blanket that wrap around the building to keep out the wind and rain. The roof is like a hat that covers the top of the building to keep out the rain and snow. Windows are like glasses that let light and air in, but keep out bugs and other things we don't want inside.

Different buildings are designed for different things. Some buildings are for playing in, some are for working in, and some are for living in. A house, for example, is a kind of building where people live. It has rooms like a bedroom, a kitchen, and a living room where people can relax and eat and sleep.

So, a shelter (building) is a special place that keeps us safe and happy when we need to stay protected from different things that can harm us.
