Shock mount

Okay kiddo, so a shock mount is like a special holder for a microphone. It helps make sure that the microphone doesn't pick up any of the sounds it's not supposed to, like bumps or vibrations.

Do you ever play with your toys and sometimes they make a lot of noise when they bump against the table? Well, microphones can do something similar, but with sound instead of toys.

A shock mount helps prevent those bumps and vibrations from making noise that your microphone might pick up. It's kind of like a little bed for the microphone to sit in, so it can rest comfortably and not be disturbed by any sudden movements.

So, if you want to make sure that the sounds you're recording with your microphone are clear and only the sounds you want, it's important to use a shock mount.
