ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Shot peening

Shot peening is a process where you shoot little pieces of material (like sand or glass beads) at a metal part to make it stronger. This process is like giving the metal part a massage. The little pieces of material hit the metal and bend it in different directions, which makes it stronger. This is like stretching out the metal and helping it to hold onto its shape better. The process also creates tiny bumps on the metal that help it resist wear and tear better.
