ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Shoulder wound of Jesus

When Jesus was on the cross, He had a very big hole in His shoulder that was caused by a sharp object called a spear. The hole was located on the right side of His body and went through His rib cage and lungs. This happened when a person named Longinus, who was a Roman soldier, pierced Jesus with a spear to make sure that He was dead.

The wound was very serious and caused a lot of pain for Jesus. It also made it difficult for Him to breathe because it affected His lungs. It was a very sad moment for Jesus and for those who loved Him.

However, Jesus’ wound did not define Him. He was known for His love and compassion towards others, even those who hurt Him. He was always forgiving and kind, and His message of hope and salvation continues to inspire people today.

Even though the shoulder wound was a painful event in Jesus’ life, it ultimately helped fulfill God’s plan for salvation. Through His sacrifice, Jesus conquered sin and death, and offers eternal life to all who believe in Him.
