Sikh architecture

Sikh architecture is like building a really big and special house for God called a Gurdwara. The Gurdwara has a special and unique design that makes it easy for people to visit, pray, and do seva (selfless service).

The outside of a Gurdwara might have a big entrance called a Darwaza, which is like a big door that welcomes people inside. There might also be a tall tower called a Nishan Saheb, which has a special flag on top that shows the symbol of the Sikh religion known as the Khanda.

Inside the Gurdwara, there is a special room called the Darbar Sahib which is like a living room for God. This room has no chairs or furniture because everyone sits on the ground together to pray and listen to the Granth Sahib, the holy book of the Sikhs.

The design of the Gurdwara also includes a kitchen called a Langar, where food is cooked and served to everyone for free. This is because Sikhs believe in doing selfless service and helping others in need.

Overall, Sikh architecture is about creating a special and welcoming place for people to come together to pray, do seva, and feel connected to God and the community.
