Alright kiddo, do you remember how we use our voice to sing or talk? Well, some people like to use different kinds of instruments to make music. One of these instruments is called a siku.
A siku is actually two pipes stuck together, like two straws. The pipes are different lengths, and one is a little higher in pitch than the other. They're made out of wood or bamboo, and sometimes they have decorations on them, like colorful yarn or patterns carved into the wood.
When you blow into a siku, sound comes out of both pipes at the same time. But because the pipes are different lengths and pitches, they make a really cool sound that's kind of like a whistle or a flute.
People have been playing sikus for a long, long time in different parts of South America, like Peru and Bolivia. They're often used in traditional music for things like festivals or religious ceremonies.
So that's what a siku is, kiddo! A musical instrument made of two pipes that make a unique sound when you blow into them.
