ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Simplex noise

Simplex noise is a type of noise algorithm used in computer graphics programs to create textures and patterns in 3D virtual environments. It is used in games, animation, movies, 3D simulations, and more. Simplex noise is like a jigsaw puzzle – it takes a set of “pieces” and puts them together in a random order. The pieces don’t look like anything on their own, but when put together, they create a pattern that looks like something in real life - like a mountain range, clouds, or a rocky terrain. Simplex noise makes this process easier and faster than making each piece by hand.
