Singing candle

When you light a candle, it starts to burn and gives off heat and light. But did you know that some candles can also make music? These are called singing candles.

Singing candles work because of something called the "chimney effect." When you light the candle, the heat from the flame creates hot air that rises up and out of the top of the candle. This creates a little "chimney" of air that draws cool air in from the bottom of the candle.

As the hot air rises, it creates a sound by producing vibrations. When the vibrations are just right, they can create a musical tone. This is what makes the candle "sing."

But the singing doesn't last forever. As the candle burns down, the size of the flame and the amount of hot air it produces changes, which can make the sound of the candle change too. Eventually, the candle will burn out and stop singing.

So next time you light a candle, listen carefully. Maybe it will be a singing candle!
