ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Single-handed sailing

Single-handed sailing is when one person sails a boat by themselves. It's like playing a game by yourself, without any friends to help you.

To start the boat, the person needs to raise the sails, which are like big blankets on poles that catch the wind and help the boat move. Next, they need to steer the boat with a small wheel or a stick called a tiller.

The person also needs to pay attention to the direction of the wind, which is like a big invisible fan blowing on the boat. If the wind changes direction, the person needs to adjust the sails so they catch the wind in the right direction.

Single-handed sailing can be a lot of fun, but it's also very challenging. The person needs to be able to do everything themselves without any help, and it takes a lot of practice and skill to be able to control the boat and keep it safe.
