ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Single-pilot resource management

Single-pilot resource management is a way of flying airplanes that uses just one pilot in the cockpit instead of the usual two. The pilot needs to make careful decisions about how best to use their resources, like time and energy, to safely and effectively complete the flight. They need to pay attention to a lot of different things at the same time to make sure everything goes smoothly. This includes paying attention to what's going on outside the cockpit and inside the cockpit, as well as keeping an eye on all the different switches, buttons, and dials. The pilot also needs to stay focused and manage their own stress levels so they can make good decisions during the flight.
