Sinking of the RMS Titanic

Ok, so imagine you're playing with your toy boat in the bathtub. You fill it up with water and let it float around. But what if you accidentally put too many heavy toys in the boat? The boat might start to sink lower and lower into the water until it's all the way at the bottom of the tub.

That's sort of what happened with the RMS Titanic, a huge ship that was supposed to travel across the ocean with lots of people on board. But instead of toys, the Titanic had lots of heavy things like furniture, supplies, and people. Plus, it hit a big iceberg in the middle of the ocean, which made a big hole in the side of the ship.

When the water came rushing in through the hole, it started to fill up the inside of the ship. Just like with your toy boat, the Titanic started to sink lower and lower in the water. And because it was such a big ship, it sunk all the way to the bottom of the ocean.

Sadly, lots of people on board the Titanic didn't get off the sinking ship in time, and they were stuck in the cold water. But luckily, some people were saved by lifeboats and were able to make it to safety.

In the end, the sinking of the Titanic was a very sad and scary event, but it taught people how important it is to be safe when you're traveling on the water.
