Sino-Korean vocabulary

Sino-Korean vocabulary refers to the words in Korean that come from Chinese.

Think of it like a secret code between two friends. Chinese gave some of its words to Korean a long time ago, and now they use those words to communicate with each other.

Sometimes, Chinese words just sound cool and fancy, so Koreans like to use them in their everyday conversation.

For example, the Korean word for telephone is 전화 (jeonhwa), but it comes from the Chinese word 电话 (diànhuà). It's like the word traveled from China to Korea and got a little bit of a Korean accent.

Even though Sino-Korean words come from a different language, Koreans have made them familiar in their own way. It's like having a secret code that only some people can understand.
