ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sisyphus (dialogue)

Sisyphus is a made-up story about a man named Sisyphus who did something bad and was punished for it.

The punishment was that he had to push a really heavy rock up a really steep hill every day, but when he got to the top, the rock would roll all the way back down and he would have to start all over again.

Sisyphus was really unhappy and tired because it was a never-ending cycle. He would push the rock up the hill, only for it to roll back down, and he would have to push it up again.

But even though he knew the rock would roll back down, he kept going because he didn't want to give up. He decided to find meaning in his punishment and keep pushing the rock up the hill even though he knew it would never stay up there.

In a way, Sisyphus found purpose in his punishment and decided to make the best of his situation instead of being defeated by it.
