ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Six-wheel drive

Hey kiddo, have you ever played with a toy car that had six wheels instead of four? Six-wheel drive can be kind of like that toy car.

Basically, when a vehicle has six-wheel drive, it means that instead of just two sets of wheels like a regular car, it has three sets of wheels. This makes it extra strong and gives it a better ability to handle tough terrain like rocks or mud.

Say you are trying to climb up a really steep hill in a regular car. If your car just had two sets of wheels, it might struggle and not be able to make it all the way up. But, with six-wheel drive, the extra wheels give it more traction and power to get up that tough hill.

It's kind of like having more hands or feet to help lift something heavy. Having more wheels helps a vehicle become more stable and powerful on rough terrain.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
