Skiptrace

Okay kiddo, so let's say you're playing hide and seek with your friends, but one of your friends is really good at hiding and you can't find them. That's kind of like what a skiptrace is, but instead of playing hide and seek with your friends, it's when some important grown-up people need to find someone who is trying to hide from them.

Let's say someone owes a lot of money to a bank, but they don't want to pay it back. The bank might hire a special kind of grown-up called a skip tracer to find that person who's hiding. The skip tracer will use a lot of tricks and tools to gather information on the person they're looking for.

They might use the internet to look for the person's social media accounts or search for any old news stories that mentioned the person. They may also call the person's friends or family to ask if they know where they are. Sometimes they even go to the person's old workplace or school to ask if anyone knows where they went.

Once the skip tracer has collected all the clues, they put everything together to help find the person who's hiding. It's kind of like putting together a puzzle.

So, that's basically what a skiptrace is. It's a special kind of grown-up detective work used to find people who don't want to be found.
