Sky burial is a traditional way of honoring a dead person in some Asian cultures. Instead of burying the body, or burning it like in traditional Western funerals, it is given to vultures to eat.
When a person dies, their body is taken to a special place in the mountains. They typically wrap the body in white fabric and lay it on the ground. Then, experienced people use special tools to cut the body into small pieces. Finally, the pieces of the body are put in the open air, so vultures can come and eat them. This honors the dead person and helps return their spirit to the universe.
