ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Slash distribution

Slash distribution is when a company pays out some of its profits to its owners or shareholders. This is a way for the owners of the company, called shareholders, to get money out of their investment. It's like when parents might give their kids an allowance or when someone might get paid for doing a job. Some companies give out slash distributions regularly, while others may not give them out very often.
