Slumping

Slumping is when things that were once high up, like a hill or cliff, start to move down to a lower level. This can happen because of things like heavy rain or changes in the ground underneath the hill.

When the ground under a hill gets wet or changes in some other way, it can become soft and weak. This makes it hard for the hill to stand up straight, and it starts to slide or slump down towards the ground.

Slumping can happen slowly over a long time, or it can happen quickly in a big landslide. This can be dangerous because things like houses or roads can get damaged or even destroyed if they are in the way of the slumping hill.

That's why it's important for people to pay close attention to hills and cliffs near them, especially if there have been changes in the weather or the ground around them. If you notice any signs that the hill might be slumping, it's important to let someone know so that they can take steps to keep people and property safe.
