Smoking is bad for your health. It can make you feel sick and can cause many bad diseases like lung cancer when you grow up. So when people want to stop smoking all together, that's called smoking cessation.
There are different ways to stop smoking. Some people stop suddenly and some people cut down slowly. There are different things people can use to help them stop like:
- Gum or patches that have a little bit of nicotine in them to help with cravings
- Medicine that can help reduce the urge to smoke
- Talking to a therapist or counselor to help learn how to deal with the urge to smoke
- Finding other ways to cope with stress or boredom instead of smoking
- Getting support from friends and family
Stopping smoking can be really hard, but it's very good for your health!
