Social inertia

Social inertia is like a boomerang. Picture a boomerang in your hand. When you throw it, it flies away and then it comes back to you. Social inertia is like that – when things stay the same, even when we want them to change. People don’t change as quickly as we would like them to and things stay the same, even when we want them to be different. It’s like the boomerang that never stops returning to the same spot.
