Social semiotics

Social semiotics is a way of understanding and explaining how people use symbols to communicate with each other. So, it's like a special kind of language. We use symbols like words, gestures, objects, and even colours to share our ideas, feelings and thoughts with others. Social semiotics looks at how people use these symbols to interact with each other. For example, two friends might use a particular kind of hand gesture to say something in a way that only they understand. Social semiotics is a way of studying this kind of communication so that we can better understand how people interact with each other.
