Socialist Union of Central-Eastern Europe was an alliance of countries that existed during the Cold War (in the middle of the 20th century). It was made up of countries like Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary. All the countries in this union had a socialist (or communist) government instead of a democracy. The governments in the countries worked together to create shared laws, which they all followed. They also worked together to help their economies grow, and they agreed to aid each other in times of war.
