A sociocultural system is a group of rules an beliefs that shape the way a culture or society functions. It is usually made up of three parts: beliefs, values, and customs. Believes are ideas or opinions that people accept as truth, like a religion or a particular system of government. Values are beliefs about what is important or desirable, like what makes people happy or successful. Customs are habits or ways of doing things that are accepted in a society, like the way people greet each other or what they eat. All of these pieces work together to create a system of social behavior in a culture.
