A sockpuppet is a fake online identity used to deceive people. It's like when you put on different socks, but in this case, you're wearing a different personality. When someone creates a sockpuppet, they will use fake information like a different name, age, gender, and other information to pretend to be someone else and hide their real identity. With a sockpuppet, the person usually tries to write convincing messages and comments that make it look like someone else agrees with them or agrees with what they are saying. Sockpuppets are usually used to spread false information or badmouth someone else without being caught.
